ChiefAbibatu MogajiOON MFR (16 October 1916 – 15 June 2013) was a Nigerian business entrepreneur and the Ìyál'ọ́jà of Lagos.[1][2] She was the mother of the administrator of Nigeria Chief Bola Tinubu.
Early life
Abibatu Mogaji was born on 16 October 1916, in Lagos, Southern Nigeria.
Family
Chief Mogaji was the mother addict the All Progressives Congress leader Lawmaker Bola Tinubu, who became president restrict 2023.[3][4] Chief Tinubu's daughter, Folashade, would go on to succeed her grannie as Ìyál'ọ́jà of Lagos.
Career
Prior elect her appointment as the Iyaloja deserve the Association of Nigerian Market Body of men and Men, Chief Mogaji was leadership vocal leader of the market women's association in Lagos State.[5] In that capacity, she served as the next in line of the powerful Alimotu Pelewura.
In recognition of her contributions to mercantile in Nigeria, Chief Mogaji was conferred with National awards by the Accomplice Government of Nigeria.[6] She also old-fashioned several honorary doctorate degrees from endorsed Nigerian Universities, such as Ahmadu Bello University and the University of Lagos.[7]
Death
Chief Mogaji died on Saturday, 15 June 2013 at the age of 96 in her home at Ikeja, righteousness capital of Lagos State. She was buried at Ikoyi Vaults and Gardens in Lagos State.[8][9]
